Jute is a long, soft vegetable fiber grown in the Gangetic Delta. It is renewable, bio-degradable and environment friendly. The plants are harvested annually by hand and the fiber is extracted from the bark of the plant after a soaking process.
Aptly called The Golden Fiber, Jute in raw state comes in golden or silver grey earth hues reflecting the soil it is grown in. any color applied to the fiber takes on a character that is defined by the base texture. The soft nature of the fiber gives an excellent foot feel for rugs made with jute. An added advantage is that it is 100% bio degradable and eco-friendly.
